​Eco​toxicology

The Ecotoxicology Group works on the development and application of in vivo and in vitro assays to study the effects of emerging and non-emerging contaminants present in agricultural soils, wastewater, etc. on terrestrial and aquatic organisms and pose a high environmental risk to these ecosystems.

Our main objective is to study the mechanisms underlying the toxicity of emerging pollutants (e.g. nanomaterials, endocrine disruptors, biocides or mycotoxins) and their bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms, particularly in fish, using in vitro and in vivo approaches. We also develop environmental risk assessment methodologies.
